While researching complex systems, there was a mounting interest and pressure to sell works and create them for sale. This influenced the works being produced, which incorporated themes on systems of buying and selling. Breaking down groups of interacting individuals into interlinked colors and forms alongside abstracted artifact-currency, I incorporated these abstracts and patterns into figures inspired by the West African traditions and Caribbean traditional markets. Centered on abstracted currency-symbol systems, this work marks and blends boundaries of individual and collective behavior in art and other markets.
