GOVERNOR GENERAL LAUREATES
The Embassy Cultural House community has contributed to a wonderful energy and a cultural buzz in London, Ontario.
At least seventeen artists and curators, who were either involved in the Embassy Cultural House between 1983 and 1990, or more recently with the relaunch of the website, have received Governor General Awards. The recipients include:
Jamelie Hassan (2001), Liz Magor (2001), Robert Fones (2011), Andy Patton (2013), Jayce Salloum (2014), Marnie Fleming (2016), Suzy Lake (2016). Shelagh Keeley (2017), Shelley Niro (2017), Wyn Geleynse (2018), Spring Hurlbut (2018) , Sandra Semchuk (2018), Stephen Andrews (2019), Jeff Thomas (2019), Michael Fernandes (2020), Zainub Verjee (2020), and Carol Condé and Karl Beveridge (2022).
